Casey Elaine Murray Smith, known affectionately as Casey to all who knew her, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 23, 2024, in her hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 15, 1964, in Grand Rapids, Casey's vibrant spirit and warm heart touched many throughout her 59 years of life.

Casey was a proud graduate of her local high school, where she formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for her future. She dedicated many years as a skilled machine operator, where her hard work, reliability, and friendly demeanor were well known and appreciated by her colleagues and associates.

More than her work, Casey's true passion lay in the simple joys of life. She was an avid lover of the outdoors, with a particular fondness for the thrills of the carnival, the tranquility of fishing, and the adventure of camping. Casey's infectious laughter and love for fun were evident to all who shared in these activities with her.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Casey would describe her as loving, funny, and friendly. Her sense of humor and ability to brighten any room were her signature traits.
