Survived by Sister Dawn Spooner, Brother Willie Melven, and Life Partner Laura Wiersema.

Children: Brian & Hollie, Cody, Damian & Alicia and Alec Melven. Seth, Nick and Tara, Sarah and Angelina. Grandchildren: Aiden, Jude, Hailey, Theodore, Hudson, Aerabella, Alaura, Azrielle, Krin, Bretton, Stella, Cypress, Lyra, Wilder, Julius, Julian, Milkey, Evyn and Camden. Great-Grandchild: Camilla.

Brian will be remembered for his caring and optimistic nature, creativity, hard work and devotion to those he loved. His infectious laugh is a sound that can never be forgotten.

He is a precious light, too soon gone from this world. His stories live on in the hearts he's touched.

To know Brian is to love Brian. His passion and fun-loving nature are a gift to those who have been lucky enough to experience it.

Brian had a strong connection to nature and animals, always enjoying the outdoors. Encouraging others to find a connection within the Earth for grounding and take no sign of life for granted.

He was the foundation for his family, one he was very proud of. His love and light are unmatched.

We'll tend to the gardens, until we meet again.
