Brian Vaughn Copeland, passed away peacefully at his home in Nunica on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024. The youngest of four, he was born to Jack and Evelyn (Baber) Copeland on March 2, 1956, A lifelong learner, he was always using his head, heart, and hands to engage with the world around him.
Since childhood, when his grandfather gifted him his toy wrecker set the Big Bruiser, Brian was enchanted by the mechanics of how things worked. This curiosity blossomed into a fulfilling career as a Precision Machine Operator at GM/Delphi, where his meticulous nature thrived. Brian’s talents were not confined to his professional life; he was the quintessential “figure it out” guy. That gift was often and happily shared with his family, friends, and neighbors, who marveled at his generosity. He was a cornerstone in his community, taking great pride in maintaining the building and grounds of the Crockery Township Hall, which hosted so many events that made his blue eyes sparkle. His commitment extended to helping friends and neighbors, often with a tool in hand and a ready smile.
His true joy was in his interactions – an adventure with Jean, a guiding hand on Kyle's shoulders, ruffling the fur of his majestic and loyal guard dog, Russell. An avid motorcyclist and antique enthusiast, he enjoyed exploring back roads and finding treasures in unexpected places. Throughout his search, he never realized that he was the true treasure, enriching every journey, discovery and interaction with warmth and his own quiet wisdom. Above all, Brian cherished his roles as a husband, father, and friend.
Brian leaves behind his wife, Jean (Spencer); son, Kyle (Kat Wepler); mother, Evelyn Copeland; sister Janet (Arnie) Kirbach; brother, Doug (Laurie) Copeland; mother-in-law, Rhea Mae Hubbel; brother-in-law, Paul (Holly) Spencer; several treasured nieces, nephews and extended family; friend Marc Amante, and a tapestry of friends and relatives who cherished his generous spirit.
