Betty passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital, Grand Rapids, Michigan, after a short stay.

She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on November 8, 1930, to Steven Leroy Stebbins and Eunice Mabel (Plouch) Stebbins. The family moved to El Dorado Springs, Missouri, when she was 12. Moving to Michigan, she lived with her sister Irene and attended Benton Harbor High School, Benton Harbor, Michigan, graduating in 1949. After many homes in many states, she moved back to El Dorado Springs later in life.

She was an avid sports fan, college and pro football, basketball, and golf. She enjoyed bowling, and added bingo, and casinos in her later years. She was the Past President of the Michigan AMVETS Auxiliary, a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a life member of the VFW, and a member of Eagles Aerie #4279.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Hadley Jones, and stepson Steven Thomas. Surviving family members are: Two of her 23 siblings, Vinnie Langford (Clinton, MO), and Albert Stebbins (El Dorado Springs, MO); two sons, Stephen H Hadley (Newaygo, MI) and Charles D Hadley (Benton Harbor, MI), three stepsons, Joseph Thomas (NorCo, CA), Michael Thomas (NorCo, CA), Jeff Thomas (Stevensville, MI). She has 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her warm smile and outgoing personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
