Bernardo "Mr. B" Lopez, age 88, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away Saturday, January 2 at his home after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Bernardo was born in Weslaco, Texas on March 15, 1932. He was the son of the late Ascencion and Senovia Gonzalez Lopez. Mr. B loved working outdoors and spent the majority of his life farming. He enjoyed watching westerns (Gunsmoke, the Rifleman, & John Wayne movies) and listening to music (Country western and Tejano). Bernardo's greatest passion in life was his family. Survivors include his beloved wife of 69 years Julia Limon Lopez of Grand Rapids. Three daughters: Syliva Lopez of Uvalde, Texas; Yolanda (Gabriel) Alejos of Weslaco, Texas; and Thelma Lopez of Calumet City, Illinois. Three sons: Reynaldo Lopez, Luis Limon Lopez, and Armando Lopez of Grand Rapids. Fifteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, five sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bernardo was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Benjiman Lopez, four brothers, and one sister.
