Angeline Mabel Cook, age 82, of Cadillac, Michigan (formerly of Comstock Park, Michigan), passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at her son’s home in Sparta, Michigan.
Angel was born on February 24, 1944, in Belmont, Michigan, to Edward and Angeline (Angie) Chatman. She was predeceased by her parents, son Sam Male, daughter Robin Cook, and siblings Edward Chatman, Frank Chatman, Patricia Santellan, and Mabel Van Os. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John, children Art (Gale) Male, Sandra Lyon, John (Tonya) Cook, James (Sheri) Cook, and Jesse (Brenda) Cook; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings JoAnn Burke, Marlene Heath, Linda (Bill) Kasul, and Jennie Van Setters.
Angel was a ray of sunshine to her family and friends, always having a smile on her face and a great sense of humor. She enjoyed travel and going to casinos, but was most happy sitting outside in the sun watching the wildlife with her family. Angel’s legacy lives on through the love she shared with everyone she met.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Friday, May 15, 2016, from 1-3 p.m., at Grand Rapids Cremation Services, 4350 Plainfield Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Angel’s name to Hospice of Michigan, in honor of the compassionate care and support they provided in her final weeks of life.
