Angela Bawcum

Angela Lee Bawcum, born Angela Lee Smith on November 23, 1970, in Muskegon, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home in Ravenna, Michigan, on April 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 54 years old.

Angela is survived by her 4 kids, Jessica (Joshua) Hartford, Renee (Wesley) Bird, Sabrina (Nolan) Skuse, and Cody Bawcum, her parents Victoria and Bernard Smith, and her three younger brothers: David, Bernie, and Christopher Smith.She was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, with whom she cherished spending time.

Known affectionately as Angie, she lived most of her life in Ravenna before spending two years in Minnesota later in life. In recent years, she found joy in traveling—visiting Mount Rushmore and exploring both the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan as well as Minnesota. Though she dreamed of visiting Yellowstone National Park with her significant other Duane Gee, her diagnosis with stage 4 lung cancer prevented that journey.

Angie loved the outdoors and spent many happy moments camping and fishing. Her favorite color was purple, and she had a passion for dancing. Always smiling and kind-hearted, Angie left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was deeply loved by those who knew her—whether for a lifetime or just a moment.

Angie will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She will be missed by many. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held on May 10, 2025, @ 1:00PM at Ravenna Free Methodist Church 2620 S Ravenna Rd. Luncheon to follow
