Andrew Duckworth

October 16, 1927 — April 17, 2021

Duckworth, Andrew S., age 93 of Muskegon, went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 17th, 2021. A man of quiet faith, he faithfully served his wife and family. A true woodworker and craftsman, Andy could make just about anything and delighted in the process of doing it. He was also an avid outdoorsman, spending countless hours exploring the Muskegon water ways and wildlife in canoe, kayak, or motorboat. He loved to capture all these activities on camera and to regale his family and friends with his adventures. Andy served in the Navy during the Korean War as a Machinist Mate on the USS Manchester. Following his military service, he joined Consumer Power Company at the B.C. Cobb plant in Muskegon where he gave 33 years of faithful service. He is survived by longtime partner Muffy McAlpin, his daughters Debbie Duckworth, Linda (Mark) Newell, and sons Jerry (Kathy) Duckworth and Paul (Lisa) Duckworth and grandchildren, Kirk (Katie) Johnson, Carolyn (Jesse Platt) Johnson, Holly Newell, Joshua (Carissa) Duckworth, Joy (Eric) Weitzel, Anna (John) Bauer, Ryan (Candy) Duckworth, Caleb (Jocelyn) Duckworth, Shannon (Nate) Fleming and Jeremiah (Margaret) Duckworth and 11 great grandchildren. Andy was preceded in death by his wife Marlene of 47 years. A celebration of life service will be held later in May to commemorate Andy’s life and achievements. Memorial contributions may be given to Parkinson’s Foundation located at 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131. Cards may be sent to Grand Rapids Cremation Services, 3305 Three Mile Rd.
