Alyce Perez

Alyce Jane (Kenyon) Perez, age 68 of Grand Rapids, MI passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023, of cancer. She passed with her husband by her side as well as their dear friend Debbie Wolf-Gage. Alyce was born on April 25, 1955, in Grand Rapids, MI, to Bert and Veta Kenyon. She was proceeded in death by her parents; brother, Gordon Kenyon; brothers-in-law, Rudy Perez and Richard Perez; sisters, Vicki (Guy) Pruitt, and Sue Hutchings; niece, Laurie Perez; and nephew, Jon Hutchings.

She will be dearly missed by her devoted husband of 15 years, Roger Perez; stepdaughter, Shuri and Stewart Griffin; grandchildren, Mya and Grace; brothers, Bruce Kenyon, Bill Kenyon, and Skip and Mary Kenyon; niece, Margaret and Matthew VandeWater; great-nephews Patrick, Ezra, and Luke; and great-niece, Ruth. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, David and Cheri Perez; sisters-in-law, Minda Perez, Linda Perez-DeBoer (Bud) DeBoer; nephews, David Perez Jr. and Bret DeBoer; nieces, Lisa Pruitt, Elizabeth Perez, and Ashley DeBoer. Great-nephew, Hunter James Mikulec; great-nieces, Emery Grace Mikulec and Karter Rae DeBoer. Two special friends who will miss Alyce as well are Joni Thurkettle and Kim Spalding.

Alyce attended school in Wyoming, MI where she met her beloved husband, Roger. However, they never married until several years later. She had a great sense of humor and made those around her laugh. She was fun loving and always wanted to have a good time, sharing many of her stories and adventures. Alyce was a great friend. Alyce’s greatest love, besides Roger, was her love for animals, especially her kitties; Molly, Chico, and Mae.

There will not be a funeral service. However, there will be a Celebration of Life at: Amvets, Post 23, 98 52nd St SE, Kentwood, MI, on October 8, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
