Thomas James Butcher

Thomas James Butcher, of Paw Paw, MI passed away on August 30, 2021 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital Grand Rapids, MI surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his wife of 17 years and companion of 33 years, Mary Butcher; 2 children, Joseph (Victoria) Butcher of Kalamazoo and Sara (Mark) Wilson of Paw Paw; 2 Grandchildren, Emma and Waylon Wilson of Paw Paw. Also surviving are his Mother, Delores (Dee) Butcher of Lawton; 2 Brothers Dave (Chris) Butcher of Paw Paw and Bill (Cindy) of Florida; a Sister, Judy (Eldon) Van Niman of Mattawan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James (Dale) Butcher. Tom was employed by Welch Foods 46 years and retired in early 2021. He enjoyed building and operating model airplanes, boats and hot rods. Tom had recently purchased one of his dream cars that he named "Punkin". When Tom wasn't wrecking his airplanes, sinking his boats or tinkering with his car he loved to spend time walking his dog, Reggie. On weekends you could find him at the Maple Lake pavilion or the St. Julian Winery listening to the live music. (He loved his music!) Tom was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and one hell of a prankster. His sense of humor will never be forgotten and forever be missed. Per Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
