Nile "Bruce" Nickles

Nile “Bruce” Nickles, 61, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2022. Bruce was born on March 4, 1961, at Memorial hospital in South Bend, Indiana to Fonda Nickles and Nile Bruce Horton. Bruce was adopted later in life by Jack Nickles.

Bruce was an avid music lover and worked for many years as a radio DJ for B100 and WRBR. Bruce also took pride in his online radio station “All Oldies 247”. Though music was his passion, Bruce loved animals and spent much of his time with Rocky and Pablo, his two pet rats.

Bruce is survived by his fiancé, Kim Hill, of Holland, Michigan, his children, Bruce Robert Nickles, Anthony Nickles, Christopher Nickles, Kady Miller, Derek Miller, Zachary Ross, and Fawn Himes, stepson Brian Hill of Holland Michigan, his sisters, Malinda (David) Holcomb, and Gina (Quincy) Barry. Bruce is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bruce was preceded in death his parents, mother, Fonda Nickles, dads, Bruce Nile Horton, Jack Nickles, grandparents, Ernest and Wilma Bingham, and daughter Kelly Martindale.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 4th at 1 PM at Christian Center Church, 530 E Ireland Rd, South Bend, IN 46614. If anyone would like to send flowers, they can be delivered to this address at door B.
