Mark Renzenbrink

January 1, 1956 — June 21, 2024

Mark William Renzenbrink passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on January 1, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mark's journey came to a peaceful end in Grand Rapids, Michigan due to complications from cancer. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and many cherished family members and friendships.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Robin Howe Renzenbrink, and their children, daughters Brittany and her husband Matt Hagen, Amber Renzenbrink and her partner Brian Webb, Audrey and her husband Jeff Lobdell, sons Brian Renzenbrink and his wife Caroline, and Austin Charles Hulbert. Mark also had many grandchildren, each of whom he adored. He had three brothers and sisters-in-law located in Ohio: Paul and his wife April Renzenbrink, Greg and his wife Patty Renzenbrink, and Alan and his wife Darla Renzenbrink.

A proud alumnus of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, Mark studied Broadcast Communications progressing to a successful 30-plus year career in broadcast radio. Known as Mark McClure in the Cincinnati, Denver, and Grand Rapids markets, his friendly, resonant voice as a drive-time DJ, Program Director, and later as Director of Sales created many trusting business relationships and connections. Across the board, Mark’s integrity, honesty, and genuine warmth made him a beloved leader in this space.

After his broadcasting career, Mark embraced a community leadership opportunity serving as the Co-Chair, then Chairman, of downtown Grand Rapids' Celebration on the Grand event. Further, he became a premium cigar aficionado and owner of Tuttle's Select Cigars in Grand Rapids where his dedication to his customers, vendors and peers in the West Michigan community was matched only by his love and expert knowledge of premium cigars and the national/international cigar industry.

Inside the Tuttle's store, Mark's kind and friendly demeanor made new customers, and long-time patrons, feel comfortable and welcomed, making his cigar lounge a hub for conversation and camaraderie. Mark particularly enjoyed the friendship of his daily gang of "Tuttle's Regulars."

A true man's man, Mark enjoyed most sports and being on the golf course, on the water fishing or boating, or simply grilling with a fine cigar and cocktails with friends on the deck.

Mark's loyalty to his Cincinnati hometown included his support of the Reds, the Bearcats, and the Bengals. After moving to Michigan, he embraced the Michigan State Spartans, both football and basketball, and particularly, under the leadership of coaches Mark Dantonio and Tom Izzo. His favorite time of the year began with fall college football leading to bowl games, the Super Bowl, the Final Four, and the Masters. His enthusiasm for sports was enhanced by his ability to bring friends together for a watch party or informal gathering. In any case, Mark always had the appropriate team jersey on… and he loved it all.

Mark's life was a testament to positivity, integrity, character, and the importance of strong relationships. His ready smile and laughter were as constant as his loving support of his wife and family, friends and patrons. To know Mark was to know a man who lived his values, who stood as a leader in his community, and who brought light, and an easy smile, into the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

We say goodbye to Mark William Renzenbrink and celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. He's no longer with us in person, but his spirit, and the impact he made on his industries and community will continue to resonate. Mark's legacy of love, friendship, and genuine human connection will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
