Larry Dean Anderson, age 77, of Casnovia sadly passed away on November 18, 2023, less than one year after his beloved wife Sharon (nee Lockman) (Ferguson) had passed. Larry was born on August 6, 1946, in Sterling Michigan to Bessie (Burt) and Charles Anderson. Larry and Sharon had been married for over 45 years. They raised her five kids in Grand Rapids, then moved to Casnovia where they lived for the past 40 years. Larry worked for most of his career at Calder City Taxi as a Taxi Driver and later as a Dispatcher. He enjoyed working with his Calder City work family, and cared about their customers. His work family called him Mr. Dependable. Larry and Sharon liked to hang out at the American Legion in Kent City and Cedar Springs with their many friends, as well as the Eagles in Sparta. Larry was king of the one-liners, he had a great sense of humor with a flair of raunchy. You knew he went too far if you heard Sharon admonish him with an “oh Larry!”. Larry and Sharon loved their family, friends, camping, and Elvis, even seeing him once in concert. Larry had a great singing voice and sounded like Elvis. Just this summer he sang Elvis songs by heart, and still sounded good! Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles Anderson, his wife Sharon, and first wife Mary. Larry is survived by his five children with Mary, Richard Van Vugt, Penny Koetjie, Rhonda Severad, Lawrence Faber, Robert Riekena, and Sharon’s five children, Kenneth Ferguson, Kimberly (Richard) Russell, Kathy (Jerry) Workman, Keith (Mary) Ferguson, Jeff (Kris) Ferguson and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life in honor of Larry will be held at the American Legion in Kent City on Saturday, January 13 from 1:00-4:00.
